GE15: Voter turnout in Perak surpasses GE14, says EC


IPOH: The number of people who have voted in Perak in the 15th General Election (GE15) so far has surpassed the total turnout in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Perak EC director Mohd Nazri Ismail said as of 3.40pm on Saturday (Nov 19), some 1,305,080 people had cast their ballots in the state.

"It has already surpassed the total turnout in 2018, which was at 80.4% or 1,214,735 people.

"The new voters were highly involved this time," he said.

The number of registered voters in the state was 2,036,872, with about 526,000 of them being new voters.
