KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob played down ongoing talks between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan to form a post-electoral pact.
Asked about the discussions taking place at Seri Pacific Hotel, the Umno vice-president said it was merely a simple chat.
"When a guest comes to our house, as Malays, we receive them. They came and we had a chat," he said.

Ismail Sabri also said Barisan was asking for an extension of the 2pm deadline to inform Istana Negara about a new alliance to form a government and submit the name of their prime minister candidate, decreed by the King.
"We are asking for it to be postponed," the Bera MP added.
Ismail Sabri also said he was unsure when statutory declarations on pledging support would be signed.

"Don’t know yet," said Ismail Sabri briefly.
Various top Pakatan and Barisan leaders had been spotted at the Seri Pacific Hotel on Monday (Nov 21) morning.
27 Barisan MPs are currently present in the meeting.
Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said earlier that only the coalition supreme council can make decisions for the MPs.
