Saifuddin: PN and BN to continue talks Nov 22 on forming Pahang state govt

KUANTAN: Pahang Perikatan Nasional claims that it has held discussions on the formation of a state government with Barisan Nasional.

State Perikatan chairman Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah said the coalition's supreme council representative Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man already had talks with Pahang Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

"There will be further discussions today (Tuesday, Nov 22)," Saifuddin said in a short Facebook post.

This development came even as Pahang Pakatan Harapan was claiming that it had agreed to cooperate with Barisan to form the next state government.

The Pahang state assembly is hanging in the balance with none of the three coalitions – Barisan, Pakatan and Perikatan – having a simple majority to form the state government.

After the 15th General Election, Perikatan holds 17 state seats in Pahang, Barisan 16 and Pakatan eight.

Tioman had not been decided as the election for the state seat would only be held on Dec 7.

This was after the election on Saturday (Nov 19) was suspended following the death of Perikatan candidate Md Yunus Ramli.
