KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and a few top leaders left the Istana Negara after an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Ahmad Zahid who arrived at around 10.40am, left around 11.25am.
Trailing behind was Barisan deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
Both leaders left without saying a word to the media.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on Tuesday (Nov 22) summoned the 30 Barisan MPs for an audience at Istana Negara individually at 10.30am on Wednesday (Nov 23).
Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had been summoned by the King to Istana Negara at 4.30pm on Tuesday, as no coalition had the majority following last Saturday’s general election.
Both Muhyiddin and Anwar have been named as the prime minister candidates of their respective coalitions.
However, a suggestion for both coalitions to form a unity government was declined.
