Johor civil servants to get one month salary bonus or RM 1,000, says MB

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Civil servants in Johor will be getting a bonus of one month's salary or at least RM1,000, says Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi (pic).

He added the awarding of the bonus is recognition of the services of civil servants who have mobilised the state government’s administration throughout the year.

Onn Hafiz also said the bonus would also be channeled to civil servants working for federal government agencies that are paid by the state, Religious and Fardu Ain (Kafa) teachers, Community Rehabilitation Center (PDK) staff and Johor Islamic Kindergarten (TAJ) teachers.

“The bonus payment will be given twice. Once by the end of this month while the second payment is before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration next year," said Onn Hafiz.

“The state government greatly appreciates the contribution of civil servants in making government policies a success. They work hard to ensure that the people get the maximum benefit from our policies," he added.

Onn Hafiz said this in his speech during the tabling of the state Budget 2023 at the Johor state assembly in Bangunan Sultan Ismail here in Kota Iskandar on Thursday (Dec 1).

He also added that the state government is concerned with the welfare of civil servants, adding that the state government will also provide flexible and inexpensive housing loan facilities.

“In continuing housing loan facilities for Johor civil servants, the state government has taken proactive steps to improve the housing loan management structure," said Onn Hafiz.

"We will carry out the submission of new applications under the state government's housing loan scheme to the public sector housing financing board (LPPSA) effective from January 2023," he added.

Onn Hafiz said that this will ease the state government's financial burden and benefit more borrowers with a higher loan eligibility limit and a maximum loan period of up to 35 years.

He also said that the state government would maintain the interest-free loan as it has been implemented since March 1, 2014.
