Selangor cops received nearly 500 reports on electoral offences during GE15

SHAH ALAM: Selangor police received nearly 500 police reports throughout the 15th General Election (GE15) period.

Deputy Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Sasikala Devi Subramaniam said on Friday (Dec 2) that they received a total of 458 reports during that time.

"We opened 86 investigation papers and charged one individual under Section 160 of the Penal Code.

"Thirteen investigation papers were classified as no further action by the Deputy Public Prosecutor while the remaining cases are still under police investigation," she told reporters at the Selangor police headquarters.

She said a majority of the cases investigated involved campaign material vandalism while some reports were also lodged by police personnel when they came across certain cases.
