MCA pays last respects to Jiang Zemin

PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong paid his final respects to the late former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin in a social media post yesterday.

“Today, I led several party leaders to pay their last respects to the former President of the People’s Republic of China, the late Jiang Zemin, at the Chinese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur,” Dr Wee said.

Dr Wee commended the achievements and talent of the late Chinese leader, noting that Jiang’s leadership had paved the way for China to become a global leader.

“The former Chinese leader, who was well versed in several foreign languages, spurred rapid economic growth and made China a global economic superpower,” he said.

Dr Wee was joined by MCA Deputy President Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, Secretary-General Datuk Chong Sin Woon, Vice-Presidents Datuk Lim Ban Hong and Datuk Seri Yew Teong Look and central committee member Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng during the ceremony.
