A MALAYSIAN student was recognised in India for his innovation called the Green Bio Herbal Paper, Malaysia Nanban reported.

S. Yogan of SJKT Kangkar Pulai in Johor received the Student Achiever award from the Nanthavanam Foundation, a NGO based in Tamil Nadu.

His parents Sukumaran and Vickneswari, who attended the award presentation ceremony in India, said they were grateful to the school and the boy’s science teacher S. Gomathy.

She had assisted and encouraged Yogan on his innovation journey.

The Green Bio Herbal Paper had earlier won several gold medals at international science innovation competitions.

> The daily also reported that a group of parents stormed into a school in India and beat up a teacher, whom they claimed had behaved “inappropriately” towards their daughters.

This came after the girls from a school in Nizamabad of Telangana state complained of harassment from the teacher.

Last Friday, the angry parents crashed a meeting between the parents and teachers at the school, assaulted the male teacher and threw their slippers at him.
