Amateurish attempt to separate GRS & BN, says Masidi on viral post

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Bersatu Deputy Chief Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic) has shot down the viral posts in social media spreading allegations of 15 Sabah Bersatu assemblymen jumping into another party and the start of a new state coalition.

Denying any validity to them, he said the posts were "an amateurish attempt to drive a wedge between Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and Barisan Nasional, by not including Barisan in the so-called new political permutation."

He was referring to a WhatsApp message of talks purportedly brewing of the 15 Bersatu assemblymen in Sabah joining Usno which supposedly would see the Sabah cabinet being revamped, where the new state political pact would throw their support towards Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

An image depicting a supposedly new coalition of local parties to replace GRS, was also circulating on Facebook.

Masidi declined to further entertain such fabrications, simply stating "A rumour is a rumour. I don’t want to give it credibility by commenting on what is manifestly a 'fishing expedition'."
