MIC to turn down deputy minister posts if offered, says party sec-gen

KLANG: MIC has decided to not accept any deputy minister’s post in the event it is offered any by the current unity government.

Party secretary-general T. Rajasekaran said this was decided during the MIC central working committee meeting which took place on Wednesday (Dec 7).

Rajasekaran also said the MIC respected the decision of the electorate in the recently concluded general election.

The party also congratulated and wished Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim well.

MIC won only one out of the 10 seats which it had contested in the recent general election.
