Perikatan to be the people’s voice in Dewan Rakyat, says Hamzah

PETALING JAYA: The Perikatan Nasional MPs committee will consolidate and strengthen the role of the opposition to voice out for the people in the Dewan Rakyat, says secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

"The supreme council of Perikatan has unanimously agreed to the (committee) appointment," he said in a statement on Sunday (Dec 11).

The committee appointed Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as chief of Perikatan MPs and PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang as deputy.

Hamzah is Opposition leader, while Kota Baru MP Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan is appointed as Perikatan chief whip and newly appointed Sabah Bersatu chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee is deputy whip.
