Darau rep denies claims he is ditching Warisan

KOTA KINABALU: Darau assemblyman Azhar Matussin has denied claims he is quitting the party along with six other assemblymen.

He also rubbished allegations he signed a statutory declaration (SD) to switch parties.

"I have never signed any SD to switch my support to other parties.

"These are just political games being played up to create an issue that is nonsensical as well as to confuse the people, particularly at the grassroots level," he said in a statement here on Tuesday (Dec 13).

According to Azhar, who is also a Warisan supreme council member, all the party's assemblymen were firmly behind president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

He also said they were in total support of the unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"I will continue honouring the mandate as well as trust given to me in the 16th Sabah Election.

"We will continue our struggle to fight for the rights of the Sabah people as enshrined under MA63," he said.
