Govt retires PSD chief Mohd Shafiq


KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has decided to end the service of Datuk Seri Mohd Shafiq Abdullah (pic) as Public Service Department (PSD) director-general effective Dec 12, 2022.

Government Chief Secretary Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali said the termination of service is in accordance with Regulation 49(3) of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993 and his retirement in accordance with subsection 10(5)(d) of the Pensions Act 1980 which enables him to enjoy all retirement benefits to which he is entitled to.

"This decision was taken after going through all the procedures for Termination in the Public Interest (PDKA) and having been scrutinised for regularity by the Attorney General's Department.

Mohd Zuki, on behalf of the Government, expressed the deepest appreciation and thanked Mohd Shafiq for his service and devotion to the government as a civil servant.

He also called on all civil servants to continue giving commitment and dedication in carrying out their duties entrusted to them for the sake of the country they love.
