Maize daze: Corn bran scattered along LPT1 after lorry hits barrier


KUANTAN: Corn bran was left strewn about at KM180 of the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1) after a lorry crashed into the median barrier there.

Based on a Facebook post on the Lebuhraya Pantai Timur page, the accident involved a lorry carrying corn bran at KM180 (Maran-Sri Jaya) towards Kuantan on Tuesday (Dec 13) night.

“The corn spilled on the road towards Kuala Lumpur and covered all the lanes.

“Delays are expected for clean-up works on site.

“Your patience is greatly appreciated. Please drive carefully and obey the instructions of the staff at the location,” it read.

In a follow-up post, it was reported that following the accident at KM180 in the direction of Kuantan, Stop and Go traffic management Kuala Lumpur-bound was activated to facilitate clean-up work at the location.
