Zuraida says report on service centre raid incorrect, will issue statement soon

PETALING JAYA: Former Ampang MP Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin says that an online report on the raid of her service centre in Ampang Jaya on Wednesday (Dec 14) is incorrect and misleading.

“I will issue a statement because the report is incorrect and misleading,” she said in a text to The Star on Thursday (Dec 15) evening.

Zuraida did not expand on the details in her text message.

It was reported by online news portal Free Malaysia Today (FMT) that Zuraida’s service centre at Jalan Kerja Air Lama was raided by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) for not having the proper permits.

The service centre had reportedly operated there for nine years.

Zuraida was formerly housing and local government minister before helming the plantation industries and commodities ministry.

She failed to defend the Ampang parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election, with Rodziah Ismail from Pakatan Harapan winning the seat.
