Batang Kali landslide: Messages of sympathy, support on campsite operator's Facebook page

PETALING JAYA: The Facebook page of Father's Organic Farm has been flooded with messages of sympathy and support from fellow Malaysians following a landslide in Batang Kali early Friday (Dec 16).

In the latest update, the page admin changed its profile picture to solid black to show its sympathy and solidarity with victims.

This caught the attention of Facebook users, who have been flooding the post's comment section.

"I can't imagine what you're going through. You're always in my thoughts," wrote Nurul Adni Adnan.

Angelina Angelina said she was "truly saddened by today.

"Let us all be strong and pray for the victims," she said.

The comments also expressed hope for the remaining victims to be found safe and alive.

"My hopes and prayers to all the affected families. May the remaining victims be found safe," said Tay Swee.

Expressing his concerns of possible overcapacity, Johan Haris penned his condolences to the victims' families.

"Hope the rescue teams can recover and save others. Thank you to the rescue teams," he said.

At press time, rescue authorities confirmed that the death toll has gone up to 16, including a child.

A pregnant woman was among the victims sent to Selayang Hospital for treatment. She is in stable condition.

Authorities are ascertaining the exact number of victims but the count remains at 94 for now.
