Batang Kali landslide: Remains of all 24 victims claimed by next of kin


SUNGAI BULOH: The last of the 24 landslide victims comprising three family members left the mortuary of the Sungai Buloh Hospital at about 9pm tonight (Dec 18).

The two hearse vans carrying the bodies of the parents and their three-year old son left the mortuary, with the next of kin walking out soon after.

The six-year old daughter from the same family remained missing and is believed to be one of the nine missing victims of the landslide.

The relatives from Machap Umboo, Melaka have been in the mortuary since this afternoon to identify and claim the bodies.

With the departure of the three bodies, all remains of the 24 landslide victims who were found have been identified and claimed by their next of kin.

The wait is now for the missing nine as search and rescue works, which have been halted, resumes tomorrow (Dec 19) at the site in Batang Kali.
