Dr Wee: MCA needs institutional reform to keep up with political landscape

PETALING JAYA: MCA needs a comprehensive post-mortem and institutional reform to keep up with the current political landscape, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The party president said in a Facebook post that MCA members should move forward and focus on the people and the country's interests.

“In the president’s policy speech at the 69th MCA general assembly on Sunday (Dec 18), I called on party members to continue being enthusiastic, work hard, help the community regardless of race, never give up on the party’s struggle and work to regain voters' support,” said Dr Wee.

“It is important for MCA to carry out a comprehensive post-mortem, institutional renewal or reform according to the current political landscape that is now changing. Most importantly, I call on party members to keep moving forward,“ he added.

The MCA general assembly on Sunday was held behind closed doors.

A total of 1,033 delegates attended the event, with 18 resolutions tabled and passed unanimously at the party's AGM.
