PETALING JAYA: MCA reaffirms its commitment to establish integrity and anti-graft mechanisms within the party and Barisan Nasional to fight graft and abuse of power.

In a statement Monday (Dec 19), the party said it had taken note of a mistranslation of Article 2.2 in the English and Malay version to the Resolutions of the MCE 69th Meeting of the General assembly.

It said the resolution passed by the General Assembly on Dec 12 was written in Mandarin.

THE MCA takes note of a mistranslation of Article 2.2 for both the English and Malay iterations of the Resolutions Of The MCA 69th Meeting Of the General Assembly reading: “The General Assembly pledges unwavering commitment within MCA and Barisan Nasional to combat graft and abuse and power.”

For clarification, the resolution passed by the General Assembly on 12 December 2022 was written in Mandarin.

Article 2.2 should therefore be read as: "To establish integrity and anti-graft mechanisms within the Party and Barisan Nasional to fight graft and abuse of power."

The MCA has always placed great emphasis on developing frameworks for good governance and upholding the rule of law; therefore, we condemn the mudslinging behaviour by certain political figures who seek to disregard our commitment.
