Fuel prices Dec 29-Jan 4 unchanged across the board

KUALA LUMPUR: The retail prices of RON97 and RON95 petrol as well as diesel will remain unchanged from Dec 29-Jan 4.

The Finance Ministry, in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 28), said in order to protect consumers from global oil price hikes, the government would maintain the ceiling price of RON95 petrol and diesel at RM2.05 per litre and RM2.15 per litre respectively although actual market prices of the two products have increased beyond this.

RON97 petrol will also remain at RM3.35 per litre in line with current market prices.

It added that the government would continue to monitor global crude oil prices and take appropriate action to protect the welfare of the people.
