PETALING JAYA: Students in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu will start their 2022/2023 (third term) school session on Jan 1, says the Education Minister.
Fadhlina Sidek (pic) said schools in Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan would start their session on Jan 3.
“I wish you a happy return to school soon,” she tweeted.
School holidays for schools in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu would be from February 17 until March 18, whereas the rest of the states would have their school holidays from Feb 18 until March 19.
Previously, the Education Ministry, in a statement announced the postponement of the school opening for the 2023/2024 Academic Calendar session on March 12, 2023 for Group A (Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu and March 13 for Group B (Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan).
The ministry said the postponement was to allow for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination to be carried out smoothly.
Kalendar Akademik Penggal 3 Sesi 2022-2023 akan bermula pada 1 Jan 2023 bagi sekolah-sekolah dalam Kumpulan A.
Manakala sekolah-sekolah dalam Kumpulan B akan memulakan sesi persekolahan pada 3 Januari 2023.
