Covid-19 Watch: 480 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 480 new Covid-19 infections on Wednesday (Dec 28), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Thursday (Dec 29) that this brings the new total to 5,024,902 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 480, there are six imported cases and the remaining 474 are local.

The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 957 recoveries on Wednesday , bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 12,920.

Of the active cases, 94.5% or 12,213 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 5.2% of active cases or 666 individuals need to be hospitalised, with 41 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Of that number, 22 require ventilator support.
