Over 80,000 attend Melaka's 'Malam Cinta Rasul' programme


MELAKA: Over 80,000 people attended the ‘Malam Cinta Rasul Melaka Serambi Madinah’ programme in conjunction with the Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council’s (MPHTJ) 13th anniversary at Dataran Sejarah Ayer Keroh here on Friday (Dec 30) night.

The programme started at 9pm and was also attended by Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali and State Secretary Datuk Zaidi Johari.

Also present were Exco members and MPHTJ president Datuk Shadan Othman.

Muslims in this state began to gather at the venue at 5 pm, and the programme was opened with montage screenings and the recitation of Ratib al-Attas and Asma’ul Husna.

The attendees later performed the Maghrib prayer led by Ustaz Abdul Karim Al-Makki, followed by the recitation of the Mawlid and qasidah by Ustaz Al Habib Syech Abdul Qodir Assegaf, and religious talk by Ustaz Wadi Annuar. - Bernama
