GOMBAK: The parents of the two children killed when a fire broke out at their Kampung Tanggut home here will be called in for questioning.
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Zainal Mohamed Mohamed said police will record their statements soon.
"The fire occurred at three houses and two children were killed. We will be calling up their parents to record their statements," he said when contacted on Monday (Jan 2).
He added that the bodies of nine-year-old Nur Syaza Alfisya and six-year-old Muhammad Al Qayyum Muhammad Faizanhave been sent to Hospital Selayang for a post-mortem.

"We are still investigating the cause of the fire and the case has been classified as sudden death," he added.

It was earlier reported that two children were killed in a fire at Jalan Dewan Simpang Tiga, Kampung Tanggut.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis said the fire broke out at 3.54am on Monday.
"A total of 22 personnel and several fire engines were deployed to the scene. The fire had engulfed 70% of the house. We brought the fire under control at about 4.13am," he said when contacted.
The scorched bodies of a six-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl were discovered at 4.43am, he added.
Norazam said the parents of the children were not at home during the incident.
