Pakatan components to discuss working with Barisan in coming Penang polls


GEORGE TOWN: Penang DAP will look into working with Barisan Nasional in the upcoming state elections.

Party chairman Lim Guan Eng said as the government is now a unity government, the states are expected to follow suit.

"Very likely, in the state elections, we will come in as a team. The unity government (is also) practised in Perak and Pahang.

"Pakatan Harapan components will be meeting to discuss fostering the partnership with Barisan Nasional," he told reporters after a press conference at party headquarters in Jalan Rangoon here on Monday (Jan 2).

On the distribution of seats and how the parties would work together, Lim said the matter will be discussed with Prime Minister and Pakatan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim before the Chinese New Year.
