Two children killed in Gombak house fire


GOMBAK: Two children were killed in a fire at their terrace house in Kampung Tanggut here.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis said the incident occurred at about 3.54am on Monday (Jan 2).

"A total of 12 personnel and several fire engines were deployed to the scene and the fire had engulfed 70% of the house. We had the fire under control at about 4.13am," he said when contacted on Monday.

He added that the bodies of a six-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl were discovered at about 4.43am, he said.

"The parents were not at home at the time. We are still investigating the cause of the fire," he said.
