KUALA LUMPUR: The police will use a social media analysis report from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in their probe of the alleged Merdeka 118 trespass by daredevil couple Ivan Beerkus and Angela Nikolau.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the report was received on Thursday (Jan 5).
“We are also waiting for the Immigration Department’s confirmation that the duo have left the country," he said when contacted.

As of Dec 31, police have recorded statements from nine people in connection with the incident, he added.
It was reported on Dec 28 that the duo had scaled Merdeka 118, the second tallest building in the world.
Their act prompted questions about security measures at the venue from social media users. Some also asked if the climb really took place.
Photographs of Beerkus and Nikolau at the top of Merdeka 118 were uploaded to a website and reshared on Reddit.

Nikolau also tweeted about her climb while Beerkus shared a video on Instagram.
On Sunday (Jan 1), police said they were working with MCMC to determine the authenticity of the video, which went viral.
ACP Noor Dellhan said on Thursday the authorities were conducting a robust analysis of the video.
“We need the correct facts especially in this age of advanced technology,” he said.
