Firemen called in to help 'wean' boy off bottle

KUALA LUMPUR: City Fire and Rescue Department was called to assist at a clinic here after a seven-year-old boy got his lips stuck on a bottle.

According to its operations commander Mohd Rusdi Ibrahim, the department received a call about the incident at around 10am on Friday (Jan 6).

"We sent a fire engine and six personnel members to the scene.

"Based on our check the boy's lips had been stuck in the bottle cap for over an hour," he said in a statement on Friday.

He said they managed to safely remove the victim's lips from the bottle cap by using a special mini grinder.

"The victim suffered a swollen lip and was sent to a nearby hospital for further treatment," he said.
