Give unity a chance, says Sabah STAR VP

KOTA KINABALU: All leaders should give unity a chance to work and stop politicking, says Sabah STAR vice president Kenny Chua.

He said that his party stands with those who want to see a more unified government that is focused on developing the state.

“So, let us put an end to endless and needless politicking. Let’s stand shoulder to shoulder and give unity a chance,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 8).

He added that political disunity and continuous fighting will only disrupt Sabah’s growth.

Chua said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) leadership has big plans to develop the state and improve the living standards of the people.

“No one wants politicking to disrupt all of this,” he added

Chua then said that Sabah STAR and GRS remain committed to this vision and are hoping that other parties would join forces regardless of their different political ideologies.

He added that Sabah is now in a position of strength with regard to its demands for its rights as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

“So far, we’ve attained some levels of success in this pursuit. If we’re disunited, we won’t be in a position of strength anymore,” he said.
