Covid-19 Watch: 383 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 383 new Covid-19 infections on Monday (Jan 9), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Tuesday (Jan 10) that this brings the new total to 5,030,696 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 383, there are two imported cases and the remaining 381 are local.

The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 355 recoveries on Monday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 11,414.

Of the active cases, 94.4% or 10,779 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 5.3% of active cases or 607 individuals need to be hospitalised, with 28 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Of that number, 11 require ventilator support.
