Floods: 802 families to receive RM1,000 aid each, says Pahang MB

KUANTAN: A total of 802 households affected when floods struck Pahang recently are due to receive RM1,000 each in compassionate aid, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail (pic).

He said the assistance was from early allocations totalling RM1mil channelled to the State Secretary's Office by the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).

The aid will be handed over to the recipients by Feb 16, he added.

"The state government agreed during the exco meeting today (Wednesday, Jan 11) to channel the aid to the victims.

"I hope the recipients will use it to purchase essential items to reduce their burden. I also pray we will be protected by Allah SWT from calamities and disasters,” he said in a Facebook post.

Seven districts in the state, namely Lipis, Jerantut, Raub, Temerloh, Bera, Kuantan and Pekan, were hit by monsoon floods last month. – Bernama
