No order from PM for Cabinet ministers to declare assets, says Rafizi

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has yet to order the declaration of assets of his Cabinet ministers, says Rafizi Ramli.

The Economy Minister said that any talk of possible asset declaration by non-PKR members of Anwars’s Cabinet had yet to be discussed.

“The topic has not even been brought up once so far in our meetings," he said in a press conference after launching the open data platform, OpenDOSM NextGen, on Thursday (Jan 12).

He said that while he believed that non-PKR ministers should declare their assets to Anwar as a form of courtesy, the decision on whether to do so would ultimately lie with the Prime Minister himself.

In 15th General Election (GE15), Rafizi had said that PKR’s 72 candidates were required to declare their assets before running as candidates to promote transparency and accountability.

Before the GE15 and the subsequent formation of the unity government, Anwar himself had promised to boot out any member of his Cabinet should they fail to declare their assets should Pakatan Harapan come into power.
