ACTOR Ikmal Amry (pic), who is among the lead actors for the movie Pulau, has been nonchalant and advised those who are not keen on watching the movie to skip it.
“If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. There is no compulsion to watch the film,” he told Kosmo!.
However, Ikmal, whose full name is Mohd Zulikmal Amry Ghazali, 29, was not directly involved in the making of some of the controversial scenes which were highly criticised online after the release of its full trailer.
“I only took off my top to swim,” he said.
Ikmal added that the audience could choose a film genre that suited their interests.
“On YouTube, there are many such ‘hot’ scenes. You can choose not to watch.
“When you leave a comment, it means that you have chosen to watch such a video,” he said.
Since early this week, the movie has been heavily criticised on Twitter for allegedly displaying immoral scenes and featuring actors with eye-catching images.
Some have questioned how such a film was able to pass the filtering process by the Film Censorship Board.
> A restaurant owner in Kampung Pek, Machang, Kelantan, has been selling food for RM1 since 2016.
Aminah Awang, 55, set that price for a meal of rice porridge, noodles and koay teow, as well as various types of sausages and drinks at her eatery known as Kak Tie Mee Celup Dua Amah.
Aminah, or Kak Tie to her customers, said the increase in the cost of goods did not prevent her from continuing the business with the same price.
“For me, as long as there is a profit, even if it is small, it is still rezeki (sustenance),” she told Sinar Harian.
Aminah, who is a mother of five, said she had went through hard times when the cost of key ingredients such as mustard leaves, which previously cost RM5 per kilo, rose to RM20, while the price of chicken and eggs continued to fluctuate.“These won’t discourage me to continue doing business. Apart from making smaller profits, I want to see the people, especially students, enjoying a meal without feeling burdened,” she said.
