KUALA LUMPUR: The Pahang government has issued a notice listing 29 names that were fraudulently added to the list of medal recipients from the Sultan of Pahang.
The names were revealed in a public notice issued by State Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak that was uploaded to the state government’s official Facebook page on Tuesday.
“Please be informed that the names below are not on the list of recipients of honorary medals and awards from Pahang Darul Makmur,” it said, listing out the names of 29 people.
It added that the notice came following the falsification of the list of medal recipients from the Sultan of Pahang with regard to the titles of “Datuk” and “Datuk Seri”.
On Dec 28, two former employees of the Pahang State Secretary’s office pleaded not guilty to 29 charges of modifying the content of the state honours list on the office’s website without permission.
They had allegedly committed the offences by using their identification numbers, without being authorised to do so, to enter the names of 29 individuals as recipients of state awards into the website’s system.
The 29 individuals were not listed as recipients of Pahang awards, namely Darjah Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP) which carries the title of “Datuk Seri” and Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) which carries the title of “Datuk”.
Mohd Isa Mohd Yusof, 36, faces 26 charges of keying in the names of 26 people aged between 34 and 61 on the website.
Muhammad Amer Syafeeq Aziz, 30, faces three charges of adding the names of three people.
They were charged under Section 5(1) of the Computer Crimes Act 1997, which carries a fine not exceeding RM100,000, imprisonment not exceeding seven years, or both, upon conviction.
Sessions Court Judge Maimoonah Aid allowed them bail of RM130,000 and RM15,000 with one surety each, and fixed Feb 13 for mention.
