Ops Selamat: Over 1,500 accidents recorded, mostly involving cars


PETALING JAYA: A total of 1,546 accidents have been recorded on the fourth day of Ops Selamat 19 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year since it started on Wednesday (Jan 18).

The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, in an infographic released on Sunday (Jan 22), said that the accidents involved 1,928 vehicles.

Of that, 72.5% of accidents recorded or 1,397 cases, involved cars. A further 42 involved lorries.

"The department advises all road users to be attentive while driving to avoid the risk of being involved in accidents," it said.
