SEREMBAN: Water supply to several areas in Seremban will be disrupted for 48 hours from 8am on Jan 31 to enable Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan (Sains) to carry out pipe replacement and maintenance works at its facilities.
Sains corporate communications head Norzita Ismail said supply to these areas would be cut temporarily till 8am on Feb 2.
"Supply will be restored in stages after work is completed.
"However, supply to consumers living in hilly areas may take a bit longer," she said here on Wednesday (Jan 25), adding that the initiative is part of continuous efforts by Sains to improve the quality of supply.
Areas in Seremban that will face disruption include the city centre, Ampangan, Senawang, Paroi, Rasah Jaya, Sungai Gadut and Senawang industrial areas, Taman Tuanku Ja'afar, Seremban Selatan, Seremban Jaya, Nusa Intan, Jalan Ampangan-Kuala Pilah and its surrounding areas.
Others include Seremban 2, Seremban 3, Mambau, Temiang, Templer, Lobak, Rahang, Bukit Kepayang, Oakland, Jalan Labu Batu 1 to Batu 13, Jalan Kuala Sawah to Batu 6, Jalan Seremban-Port Dickson to Bengkel Sri Seremban, Jalan Rasah, Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, Columbia Hospital, KPJ Hospital, Mawar Medical Centre and the CMH Specialist Hospital.
Consumers in Sikamat including those living in Tmn Desa Rhu, Kg Ujung Pasir, Tmn Warisan Puteri, Kg Bukit Merbah, Tmn Rashibah, Tmn Suliana and Tmn Penaga as well as those living in hilly areas in Mantin and Lenggeng such as Tmn Bunga Raya, Tmn Pelangi, Tmn Kemuning, Tmn Bukit Berlian, Kg Tarun and Kg Sg Bioh will also be affected.
Norzita said consumers in parts of Kuala Pilah will also face disruption for 24 hours from 8am on Jan 31 due to pipe replacement works.
The affected areas include Senaling, Kg Maasop, Tmn Pilah Senaling, Kg Batang Pilah, Kg Sri Pilah, Kg Ulu Pilah, Kg Sikai, Kg Gunung Pasir, Kg Ulu Senaling, Tmn Bahagia Delima, Tmn Bukit Intan, Tmn Selasih, Kg Batu 46, Tmn Pendita, Kg Bukit Temensu and Kg Sungai Layang.
She said Sains would deploy water tankers and place static tanks in the affected areas if the works took longer to complete.
