Probe launched into NKVE crash over lane markings, says Works Minister

PETALING JAYA: The authorities will carry out a full investigation of an accident on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) allegedly caused by confusion over lane markings, says Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

The Works Minister said the drivers of two vehicles that collided before crashing into road dividers were apparently uncertain about overlapping yellow and white markings in the area.

“The said location has since been identified for ... works to be carried out by concessionaire Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) and completed over three nights.

“DASH authorities have also identified other locations where the infrastructure has to be improved,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Jan 26).

Nanta Linggi added that highway authorities would also evaluate locations within their respective purview to ensure that lane markings were clearly drawn.

“This is a serious matter as it involves the safety of road users. At the same time, I urge all motorists to be careful on the road,” he said.

Earlier, a video went viral showing two cars colliding allegedly because of the drivers' confusion over lane markings near the Kota Damansara exit along the NKVE.
