Dr Wee: Funding for UTAR Hospital in Muar has reached 80%

PETALING JAYA: Funding for the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Hospital in Muar has reached 80%, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

In a post on his Facebook page on Friday (Jan 27), the MCA president said he launched the Bakri MCA activity centre while also witnessing the handover of a RM138,000 donation collected for the hospital.

"I deeply appreciate the support of people from all walks of life for their financial support for UTAR Hospital.

"So far, the hospital has collected 80% of the funds needed to set it up," he said.

He added that the hospital is an integrated hospital that offers modern and traditional medical services to the public, regardless of their backgrounds.

"Meanwhile, I also hope the Bakri MCA activity centre will benefit the local residents.

"I also encourage our comrades to persevere in being the voices of the people and work for the good of the nation and its people," he said.

With Dr Wee at the ceremony was Johor MCA deputy chairman Senator Datuk Lim Pay Hen.
