Wedding bells beckon for actor after lovers’ reunion

MALAYSIAN actor Frederick Lee has been reunited with his girlfriend after being apart for two years due to travel restrictions.

According to Sin Chew Daily, this has sparked rumours that the two will get hitched in the near future.

Lee, who is currently spending Chinese New Year in Malaysia, and his girlfriend (known only as Jess) have been dating for nine years.

When asked about the matter, Lee’s manager said, “I’ve not heard anything at the moment, but I believe it will happen.”

Originally from Melaka, Lee said he was cherishing every day he was able to spend with Jess.

“Not being able to come home to celebrate Chinese New Year, lucky enough to be able to celebrate it together with you this year.

“It’s the third day of Chinese New Year, and I want to cherish every single day,” he wrote.

Lee, who moved to Taiwan to further his acting career seven years ago, says he has always wanted to start a family of his own.

In a previous interview, Lee said he wished to have a happy family just like his older brother.

During his time in Taiwan, Lee managed to land a prominent role in the TV adaptation of Midnight Dinner, while also being nominated for “Best Supporting Character” at the Taipei Film Festival for his role in The Scoundrels.

He even recently appeared on Disney+’s Taiwan Crime Stories and the mafia film series Gatau.

However, Lee remains apologetic to his girlfriend for being away for so long for his career.

“In the last half year, I missed all the big festivals we used to celebrate together. Thank you for your patience and understanding, which allowed me to fully commit to working hard,” he wrote.

> Chinese model-influencer Zhang Yingying is believed to have gotten back together with businessman Wang Xiaofei just days after calling it quits, reported China Press. The 27-year-old, who earlier posted a video of her crying over the breakup, appeared to be in good spirits when she celebrated her birthday recently.

She wrote in the accompanying post: “It’s not that complicated. As long as he makes you happy every day, he is the right person”.

Internet users speculated that Zhang was referring to Wang, who was rumoured to have flown back to her hometown in Anhui province to reconcile with her.

Zhang was earlier reported to have announced her breakup with Wang and hinted that it was due to his mother’s disapproval of her.

“Thank you for overwhelming me with your cowardly love. Listen to your mother’s advice,” she had earlier written on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter.

It was earlier reported that Zhang was believed to be the reason behind Wang’s divorce from Barbie Hsu in November 2021, after 10 years of marriage.
