DESPITE economic pressures, 71-year-old Sinah Sulaiman is selling teh o at her Warung Cik Nah in Kuala Terengganu for just 30 sen.

Sinah has been maintaining low prices for her food and drinks for about 30 years now.

“Other drinks such as milk tea cost 80 sen, teh tarik (90 sen), kopi O (RM1) and teh ais (RM1.20).

“Kueh costs between 30 sen to 60 sen a piece, while nasi lemak and fried noodles cost RM1 to RM1.50 a pack,” she told Kosmo.

Sinah said the shop is well known for it’s inexpensive food and drinks.

She lends a helping hand to local entrepreneurs by selling various kuihs and foods made by some 80 housewives from nearby areas.

“My approach is to help the local community earn a living and not to burden customers.

“Even though the price is cheap, I still get a profit that allows me to cover the operating cost” she said.

Sinah is still able to employ eight workers and the number will increase to 12 worker during weekends, school holidays and festivals.

>Comedian and SuriaFM radio presenter Shuib Sepahtu has dismissed rumours that he will be tying the knot in March.

Rumours of him finding a new love interest surfaced after he was seen with entrepreneur Watie Hanifiah at a concert last Sunday.

The video of Shuib, whose real name is Shahmira Muhamad and Watie, made its rounds after the concert.

“I admit attending the concert because I received a personal invitation. I really wanted to see Lah’s concert but I did not have anyone to go with, so I asked Watie to accompany me.

When asked if he was planning on getting married, the widower said it was something possibly for the future.

“Talk that I am getting married in March is untrue. When the time comes (to get married), I will inform everyone,” he told Berita Harian.

It was earlier reported that Shuib was to tie the knot at the end of 2022, after a catering owner claimed a booking was made for a reception, to which he denied.

Shuib was previously married to the late singer Siti Sarah Raissuddin, who died from Covid-10 on Aug 9, 2021. He has four children from his marriage to Siti Sarah.

> About 85% of cases registered in syariah courts between 2019 and last year were successfully resolved through conciliation (sulh), Utusan Malaysia reported.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said this involved a total of 32,718 cases out of a total of 38,683 cases covering claims for mutaah, child support, and jointly-acquired property, among others.

“Imagine if there is no conciliation process and everything is tried in court, time would be wasted with overdue cases,” he said.

Sulh is a method of peaceful conflict resolution that has been practiced in Islam more than 1,400 years ago by prioritising a sustainable approach in society.
