KUALA LUMPUR: A foreign woman was abducted by her lover’s wife and mother in a bid to keep the two apart.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said police were alerted to the case after a 34-year-old man lodged a report on Saturday (Feb 4), claiming that his girlfriend had been abducted by unknown men.
"Investigations revealed the incident occurred near Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara here at around 11.45pm on Friday (Feb 3).
"The complainant claimed that he left the victim in his car with the engine running and car doors not locked.
"He claims that shortly after he was told by witnesses that his car was driven off by unknown men heading towards Gombak," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 7).
He said the complainant tried to call the victim’s mobile phone but could not reach her.
"Police immediately began a search and managed to track the vehicle which was abandoned near a hypermarket at Rawang.
"Following that, between 1.50am and 5.30am on Sunday we arrested two women and a man, aged between 37 and 52, at Temerloh, Pahang," he said, adding that the three suspects then led police to a premises at Bandar Dataran Segar, Port Dickson at around 7.10pm on the same day.
He said police found the 26-year-old foreigner there along with mobile phones belonging to the suspects and a car which was used in the abduction.
"Our investigations revealed the motive for the abduction was due to marital trouble.
"The main planners of the abduction are the complainant’s wife and mother who wanted to put a stop to his intimate relationship with the victim," he said, adding that the victim suffered injuries to her nose, face, head and body.
ACP Beh said the victim was sent to the Hospital Kuala Lumpur for medical treatment.
"We have classified the case as abduction and the three suspects have been remanded to assist further investigations.
"We urge the public to refrain from taking such actions which are against the law," he said.
