Genting van crash: Another victim dies, death toll now eight


PETALING JAYA: Another victim of the Genting Highlands tour van crash has died, taking the death toll up to eight.

Pahang police chief Comm Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf confirmed the matter in a statement on Friday (Feb 10).

"At 1.46pm on Feb 10, Chew Chong Beh, 73, passed away while being treated at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).

"Police confirm that the death toll is now eight. Four survivors are being treated in HKL while another is still at the Temerloh Hospital," he said.

He added that the sixth surviving victim has since been discharged.

On Wednesday, 14 people – including two drivers – were involved in a fatal accident after the vehicle they were in crashed in Genting Highlands.
