PETALING JAYA: As part of its social responsibility effort, Hans Advisory & Trust Co Ltd returns to Star Foundation to donate RM100,000 with the aim of supporting its initiatives.

Hans Advisory director Mohamad Akbal Mohd Yunos said that Star Foundation was among the most trusted foundations in Malaysia, which they believed could impact society.

“We have faith in Star Foundation, because we believe that it is one of the teams that is able to deliver successful social responsibility activities.

“We wanted to share our fortunes (through social initiatives), but we don’t have the luxury of time and human resources, so the Star Foundation comes into play in assisting us to help people in need,” he said yesterday after the symbolic check-handing ceremony at Menara Star yesterday.

Hans Advisory had previously made contributions to Star Foundation in 2021 and 2022.

Asked if the company would like to champion a specific cause, Mohamad Akbal said they champion activities that would improve the livelihoods of the less fortunate.

He said providing capital for these groups to start their own businesses could help lift people out of poverty.

“They would then be able to provide educational opportunities to their children, who can do many other impactful activities to improve their lives,” he said.

SMG chairman Tan Sri Chor Chee Heung thanked Hans Advisory for their contributions.

Chor, who is also Star Foundation chairman, said Hans Advisory’s annual contributions to the foundation should be emulated by other corporations that want to make a positive impact.

“It is uncommon for the same people or organisations to repeat their donations every year.

“However, Hans Advisory has been consistent, which shows that they are very genuine in trying to help unfortunate groups that live within our midst.

“Hopefully more companies will emulate Hans Advisory’s efforts because we need genuine intentions to help the underprivileged,” Chor added.

Star Foundation is the charitable arm of Star Media Group, aimed at supporting and delivering sustainable, meaningful and impactful social initiatives.
