MCA respects Malaysians' choice in GE15, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: Although MCA feels disappointed with the results of the 15th General Election, the party respects the people’s choice, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said that was why MCA decided to support the government in order to end the political turmoil that has gone on over the last few years.

“We hope for a stable government that is able to fight for the benefit of the people.

“MCA as an experienced party is still able to play a part to be a voice for the people in the Parliament, which will commence next week,” said Dr Wee in a statement on Facebook on Saturday (Feb 11).

Earlier, he had celebrated the Chinese New Year at a gathering hosted by MCA Sri Gading.

He said that although the Chinese community celebrated Chap Goh Mei last Sunday, there was still a large and lively crowd at the Chinese New Year event.

Dr Wee also thanked Sri Gading MCA division chairman Teo Yew Chuan for inviting him to the event, where he got to meet division leaders and grassroots.

Also with Dr Wee at the gathering included MCA vice-president and Klebang state representative Datuk Lim Ban Hong, MCA Parit Sulong division chairman Datuk Tan Teck Poh and MCA Batu Pahat division chairman Kang Beng Kuan.
