Is Azmin taking a pause from politics?

PETALING JAYA: A tweet on Saturday (Feb 11) has left people wondering about Datuk Seri Azmin Ali's (pic) political career.

"To all Malaysians. It is a momentary pause in my career for public service that warrants going back to the drawing board.

"Nevertheless, there remains no let-up in my resolve to serve the nation and the rakyat," he tweeted.

Many are wondering if this tweet meant that he was taking a break from politics after his loss in GE15.

Azmin lost the Gombak parliamentary seat after obtaining 59,538 votes, losing to his former protege Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

This was considered a surprising defeat for Azmin, the International Trade and Industry Minister in the caretaker government, who won the seat in 2018 with 75,113 votes. He had held the seat since 2008.

He is still the Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman as Selangor has yet to dissolve its state assembly.
