Varsity staff member detained for submitting false claims amounting to RM330,000


SHAH ALAM: An officer of a local university has been detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly submitting forged documents to make claims for an education project amounting to RM330,000 between 2018 and last year.

According to a source, the 40-year-old female suspect was arrested at about 4pm today (Feb 13) after giving her statement at the Selangor MACC office here.

Selangor MACC director Datuk Alias Salim confirmed the arrest and said the case was investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.

The suspect will be brought to the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court here tomorrow (Feb 14) to obtain a remand order. - Bernama
