Several Queensbay Mall sections affected by rain have resumed operations, says management

GEORGE TOWN: Several sections affected by heavy rain at the Queensbay Mall on Tuesday (Feb 14) night have been cleaned up.

A statement by the Queensbay Mall said a section of level 3 of the mall had been cordoned off for maintenance work after the rain caused water to overflow into parts of the mall at about 11.10pm.

"The affected areas located in the South zone level 3 of Queensbay Mall have been cleaned up and all tenants are back to operations as usual," said the mall.

The mall also thanked its shoppers and visitors for their patience and support over the incident.

Several videos of the incident have gone viral showing collapsed ceilings and damaged floors.

The rain, which lasted for about an hour, also caused the third floor of the shopping centre to be inundated with water.
