KOTA KINABALU: Kunak assemblyman Norazlinah Arif says has told her accusers to provide evidence that she and two others were paid off to leave Parti Warisan.
"I am ready to be investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)," she said in a statement after Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal accused her and two other assemblymen that they were offered money to cross the floor.
Norazlinah said that she was ready to be probed if Shafie had evidence that she received "incentives" to support Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor after deciding to quit the party to be an Independent.
Norazlinah, together with Mohammad Mohamarin (Banggi) and Chong Chen Bin (Tanjong Kapor), quit Warisan on Feb 6 and announced their support for Hajiji.
"I welcome the MACC investigation if Shafie has solid evidence. I have denied it several times before. I am being slandered. If they have evidence, they should lodge a police report.
"I left Warisan willingly because I no longer agreed with the party's inconsistent direction," she said.
She said Warisan's failed attempt to topple the Hajiji's Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government had created a power struggle within the party.
In Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 15), Shafie claimed that Norzalinah was among a few lawmakers who had been wooed to leave Warisan.
Shafie said that it was important for Sabah to put in place the anti-hopping law to avoid assemblymen from being "bought".
