A MAN in Johor Baru was criticised for “spoiling the market” after successfully proposing to his girlfriend with a Porsche sports car, reported China Press.
Photos of the marriage proposal, which have gone viral online, showed a man proposing on a bended knee with a black sports car.
The incident, which took place at Taman Mount Austin, attracted a crowd of onlookers.
When interviewed, Zhang, 28, said he and his fiancee – both real estate agents – have been seeing each other for seven years.
“My girlfriend stood by me in the face of hardship and challenges. I am really grateful to have met a girl who can grow my business together with me,” he added.
His fiancee, 26, surnamed Wang, said she was both surprised by the gesture and excited to begin the next stage of her life.
While many Internet users congratulated the happy couple, others however attempted to dissuade people from emulating the man’s grand gesture, for fear of living beyond their means.
