Selangor school bags top prize in hockey meet

STUDENTS from SJK(T) Ladang Rinching in Semenyih, Selangor, emerged champions of the inaugural national-level field hockey competition among Tamil schools, Malaysia Nanban reported.

A total of 14 teams representing various states took part in the event, which was held at the hockey arena in Taman Daya, Johor Baru.

Organising committee chairman Dominic Sawarimuthu said they would continue guiding the students by conducting more training sessions led by national hockey player Arul Selvaraj.

> An offshoot of the Hindu extremist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organisation attacked Tamil students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, the daily also reported.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the RSS, attacked after a vigil for Darshan Solanki, a Dalit community student at IIT Bombay who killed himself after facing harassment.
